  • Big Idea
    • God can make us complete as we learn to repair relationships.  
  • The Need for Repair                                                                                                                 
    • In the Bible hate is simply having ill will toward someone. Matthew 5:21-22
    • Slander in Proverbs is a bad report.
  • Obstacles to Repair  
    • Thinking we're superior.
    • We fail to forgive. Proverbs 20:22; Matthew 5:43-45; Romans 12:9. 
  • The Beauty of Repair                                                                                                                          
    • We can have fellowship with Christ. Luke 14:8-11
    • We can overcome evil with good. John 16:33: Romans 12:20-22
  • The Impossibly Possible                                                                                            
    • Don’t hide. 1 John 4:8
    • Receive Christ’s radical calling. Luke 9:23

  • Big Idea
    • Our tests can either make us wiser or more foolish.
  • The Test of Success                                                                                                               
    • One of the worst things that can happen to us in life is to become successful.  
    • Without wisdom our fulfilled desires can ruin us. Proverbs 10:16, 25; Jeremiah 45:5   
  • The Test of Suffering                                                                                                                 
    • Pain can lead us to harden our hearts to God and others. Proverbs 3:11; Romans 1: 18-32
    • Pain can help us to see that we're not alone.  Proverbs 3:11-12
  • The Way of Wisdom                                                                                                           
    • Giving things to God first, changes what success does to us. Proverbs 3:9
    • We can't get over our foolishness, until we admit we're fools. Proverbs 3:13-14
  • The Rescue Plan                                                                                                                 
    • Worshipping and serving God alone reveals our confidence that He is at work. Proverbs 24:10-12; John 12:12-13; Luke 4:5-7
    • Jesus showed us the true meaning of success. John 12:23-26

    • To seek justice puts us in the middle of God's grace. 
  • Thread
    • We have a small view of what it means to be blessed.  Psalm 1:1-3; Proverbs 3:18 
    • We have a small view of God. Proverbs 3:19-20 
  •  Unraveled
    • We unravel when we sin. Romans 14:23
    • Our community unravels when we think our stuff is only our stuff. Proverbs 3:27-32; Matthew 10:8 
  • The Righteous  
    • We need God's help in knowing how to deal justly. Proverbs 3:30-32; 11:10 
    • A righteous person in the Bible is someone who lives with regard for others.   Proverbs 11:10-11; 13:32 
  • Restoration
    • Jesus became the poorest of the poor to offer us what we don't deserve. Proverbs 19:11; Matthew 10:1-42; 25:31-46; Luke 8:1-3 1. 
    • The reality of Christ's presence in our lives can be manifest where we live. Proverbs 29:7; Romans 5:1; James 3:18

    • We can trade our foolishness for God's wisdom.

    • We need to be in touch with the truth that God is our Creator. Psalm 14:1; 19:1-2; Proverbs 16:25  
    • We need to be aware that sin exists. Psalm 14:1-3
  • Types of Foolishness                                                                                                            
    • What kind of fool are you? Proverbs 1:22
      • The simple fool.  Proverbs 14:15
      • The mean fools. Proverbs 21:24
      • The obstinate fool. Proverbs 15:5
  • God's Wisdom                                                                                                                             
    • Jesus is wisdom. Proverbs 8:27-32; Matthew 7:24-29; John 1:1-18.
    • Jesus became foolish for us. Proverbs 19:25; 1 Corinthians 1:18
  • Fools No More                                                                                                                       
    • Become God's fool. Proverbs 1:32-33
    • Seek Christ in the midst of the problems and perplexities of life. Proverbs 1:7; 16:6

    • There has to be a tension. Proverbs 16:9
  • Guidance                                                                                                                            
    • If we don’t seek God's guidance, we're in trouble. Proverbs 11:3; 16:25
    • If we seek God's guidance, we'll see His grace. Proverbs 12:15;15:22
  • Decisions                                                                                                                          
    • We have to fully submit to God's will. Proverbs 16:3
    • Just make a decision. Proverbs 16:33; 21:5
  • Freedom                                                                                                                                        
    • We can we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.  Proverbs 16:4; Matthew 6:33
    • We can grow in confidence in God's grace. Proverbs 16:3; Romans 8:28

  • A Good Judge

  • Redeeming Work
