Foolish

Big Idea
- We can trade our foolishness for God's wisdom.
Complete Folly
- We need to be in touch with the truth that God is our Creator. Psalm 14:1; 19:1-2; Proverbs 16:25
- We need to be aware that sin exists. Psalm 14:1-3
Types of Foolishness
- What kind of fool are you? Proverbs 1:22
  - The simple fool. Proverbs 14:15
  - The mean fools. Proverbs 21:24
  - The obstinate fool. Proverbs 15:5
God's Wisdom
- Jesus is wisdom. Proverbs 8:27-32; Matthew 7:24-29; John 1:1-18.
- Jesus became foolish for us. Proverbs 19:25; 1 Corinthians 1:18
Fools No More
- Become God's fool. Proverbs 1:32-33
- Seek Christ in the midst of the problems and perplexities of life. Proverbs 1:7; 16:6

Big Idea
- Giving our plans to God allows us to move forward in His grace.
God is in Control
- Our choices against the backdrop of God's sovereign will are the only way to make sense of the world. Proverbs 16:1
- There has to be a tension. Proverbs 16:9
Guidance
- If we don’t seek God's guidance, we're in trouble. Proverbs 11:3; 16:25
- If we seek God's guidance, we'll see His grace. Proverbs 12:15;15:22
Decisions
- We have to fully submit to God's will. Proverbs 16:3
- Just make a decision. Proverbs 16:33; 21:5
Freedom
- We can we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. Proverbs 16:4; Matthew 6:33
- We can grow in confidence in God's grace. Proverbs 16:3; Romans 8:28

- Life is a painful proposition, but God offers hope in Jesus Christ.
Good Grief
- We're all going to die. Proverbs 14:13

Longing
- People flee their pain. Proverbs 28:1
- We all miss the tree. Proverbs 13:12; Revelation 22:1
A Good Judge
- "Where are you?" Genesis 3:9; Proverbs 16:2
- God called His Son to climb the tree. Proverbs 12:25; Galatians 3:13
A Hope-Filled Heart
- Admit your pain. Proverbs 15:4; Romans 8:14-17
- Be renewed in the hope that God alone gives. Proverbs 14:30; Romans 12:1-2

- We can overcome laziness by working out God's good work in us. Philippians 2:12
Connections

- Work is meant to connect us with others. Proverbs 10:5; 12:10-11
Thorns
- Work has been hard since the beginning. Genesis 3:17-19; Proverbs 15:19
- We make our efforts about us. Proverbs 12:10-11
Redeeming Work
- Jesus labored for us. Hebrew 12:3
- Jesus calls us to labor with Him to find rest. Matthew 11:29-30
A Highway
- Serve a good boss. Psalm 121:1-2; Proverbs 8:1-4; 15:19; Colossians 3:23
- Faithful work provides relational benefits. Proverbs 27:18; Matthew 25:21
